(Senior) Installation Engineer Subsea

Our client is one of the world’s leading marine construction companies for the oil and gas industry and specialises in the design, transportation, installation and removal of all types of fixed and floating offshore structures in shallow and deep water.

The Technology department of this company is responsible for the technical preparation necessary for fixed/floating platform installation and removal, pipeline and subsea installation projects. Together with clients, their engineers work in dedicated multi-discipline project teams in order to provide constructive and workable solutions for technically challenging projects.

Our client is currently building a new vessel for pipelay projects in deep to ultradeep water all around the world. Together with their other deepwater vessel it forms the fleet of our client for the offshore deepwater pipelay market.

Job description

To prepare projects executed with these vessels, our client is working in multidisciplinary project teams from their Leiden office. As (Senior) Installation Engineer you will be part of these project teams with challenging projects. You are part of a multidisciplinary project team within our Technology department.

Key tasks

• You will support the technical preparations needed for the installation project of subsea infrastructures and pipeline
• Your work will focus on deep and ultra-deep waters
• It is your responsibility to develop procedures, create manuals and write reports on the various pipe lay projects
• It is one of your tasks as an installation engineer to advise and support the project team in the optimization of the design and the procedures
• During the execution of the project offshore you will explain, recalculate and adjust calculations when needed
• Additional, from the experience you gained within the field of offshore installation, you will extend the knowledge base of the Technology department

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Mechanical, Maritime or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience with construction projects
• Comprehensive understanding of offshore projects
• Excellent analytical and pragmatic skills
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• The ambition to work (temporarily) offshore on our vessels, overseas or in our other offices
